Corporate Brochure 2021-22

On 31st August 2022, NABFOUNDATION celebrated its 3rd Foundation Day. On the occasion, NABFOUNDATION released a vibrant corporate brochure titled 'NABFOUNDATION so far.'

‘NABFOUNDATION so far’ entails brief write-ups on NABFOUNDATION’s most prominent projects and activities in the last year. The brochure aims to encapsulate NABFOUNDATION’s journey, and how it works to further the development agenda of its parent body- NABARD.

Pan-India Video Making Competition

Jitender Kalra, Director
Shri Jitender Kalra, B.Tech and MBA, comes with a phenomenal understanding and experience of development sector. Starting out as a Civil Servant in 1991, Shri Kalra quickly realized his inner connect with the development sector. His journey since then has seen him taking senior leadership roles in UNIDO, Dr. Reddy’s Foundation and Reliance Foundation, two of India’s largest CSR Foundations. His work has made a remarkable in areas like Rural Transformation, Health, Information services and Disaster management, Livelihood Promotion and Poverty Reduction. During his seven years’ tenure with UNIDO, he pioneered the ‘cluster development’ approach in India. As programme head, he led a team responsible for Implementing ‘Cluster Development Program’ in Orissa, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka for development of clusters in Auto component cluster, Machine tool cluster, Foundry cluster, Floriculture cluster etc to promote livelihoods.
Shri Kalra is a sought after public speaker on issues of skilling, cluster development, cultural transformation, rural development, Not-for-Profit engagement with Govt, Policy advocacy, Corporate CSR and Ethics & Values.
Shri Kalra is currently CEO of Foundation for Economic Development (FED) which is working directly with state governments with a focus on building capacities to think through and execute reforms. FED helps in designing and running development projects in a more professional manner by incorporating the best of management and social audit practices.
SANJEEV DHAMIJA, Director
Shri Sanjeev Dhamija, 58, is a seasoned development professional with over 30 years of experience in banking and development sectors. He holds a Bachelors’ Degree in Commerce (Honours) from University of Delhi and Post Graduate Diploma in Management from AIMA, New Delhi. He also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Information Technology and is a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers, Mumbai.
In his professional career spanning over 32 years in NABARD, he has worked in different positions across various Regional Offices of the Bank in developmental, supervisory and finance related functions such as, State Infrastructure Projects, Natural Resource Management, Business Initiatives, HR, Production and Developmental Credit, Finance, Audit, RFI supervision and Institutional Development.
Shri Dhamija is currently CGM-in-charge of Finance Department as also Department of Subsidiaries and Strategic Investments of NABARD at it Head Office in Mumbai.
Nirupam Mehrotra, Director
Shri. Mehrotra, MA (Economics) and M.Phil form Jawaharlal Nehru University has been a key member of the group within NABARD which analyses macro-economic changes in the rural economy and their impact upon NABARD.
Shri. Mehrotra was an active participant in the deliberations of the GOI’s Expert Group on Agricultural Indebtedness and assisted in drafting of the final report. He provided inputs to the report submitted by the Task Force on Credit Related Issues of Farmers, constituted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India, 2010. He also participated in the Deliberations of the “Sub-Group of the Committee Constituted by Reserve Bank of India to Re-Examine The Existing Classification and Suggest Revised Guidelines with Regard to Priority Sector Lending Classification and Related Issues, 2012” .
His past responsibilities have included undertaking impact evaluation studies, understanding the practical challenges in strengthening supply chain for high value agriculture, quantifying the direct and indirect benefits of investments in rural infrastructure.
S. K. Dora, Director
Shri S K Dora, Chief General Manager and Principal at National Bank Staff College (NBSC), Lucknow since 01.07.2020, is a Post Graduate in Economics from Sambalpur University, Odisha & holds M.Phil. Degree from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. In NABARD, Mr. Dora has worked in various capacities in the last 33 years in Mumbai, HO and in ROs in Gujarat, Odisha including four years as Faculty Member in the Bankers Institute of Rural Development (BIRD), Lucknow and one year as Vice Principal in NBSC, Lucknow.
He has served as a member of the Governing Council of Agriculture Skill Council of India (ASCI). He was a member of the FICCI Task Force on Climate Change and also represented NABARD in the Task Force on Demonstrating Doubling of Farmer's Income & also on Task Force for use of Technology for Agriculture Insurance constituted by NITI Aayog, GOI. He also represented NABARD in the working group for harnessing space technology for banking services constituted by IDRBT.
Recently, he has also been nominated by NABARD as its nominee director on the board of CSC E-Governance Services India Limited (CeGSIL). His areas of specialization include farm sector policy including agri-risk mitigation, climate finance, environment and social risk management, farmer’s collectives, infrastructure finance and rural bank supervision, etc.
Sanjeev D Rohilla, CEO
Sanjeev Rohilla joined NABARD in 1992 after doing his post-graduation in Economics from Punjab University, Chandigarh. He has handled key assignments in multiple departments over the last two decades in Jammu and Kashmir, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Meghalaya. He has been part of multiple teams within NABARD covering fund raising, HR, credit operations, financial inclusion technology, credit planning and corporate communications. He was a key member of the team which launched the first ever Aadhar enabled Kisan Credit Cards to Cooperative Banks and RRBs. Micro finance, credit planning, designing of innovative convergence models and organizational communication continue to be his areas of deep interest.
J S Upadhyay, Director
Shri J S Upadhyay joined NABARD in February1988 and in a career spanning over three decades has worked in various departments and regional offices of Pune, Patna, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Bhopal, Hyderabad and in HO, Mumbai. He has been associated in different capacities across inter-developmental sections, spearheading activities such as implementation of Prof. Vaidyanathan Package for Short Term Cooperative Banks, Revival Reform & Restructuring Package for Handloom Sector in India, Financial Inclusion and EShakti project for digitization of SHGs during his stint with Micro Credit Innovation Department in HO, Mumbai during the period 2014 to 2017. Shri Upadhyay has expertise in supervision of banking services for RRBs and Rural Coops Banks. He is presently holding charge as Chief General Manager of Micro Credit Innovation Department and Department of Financial Inclusion & Banking Technology in HO at Mumbai.

Shri Upadhyay holds Bachelor’s degree in Science and Law from University of Lucknow. He has been actively contributing at Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI), Bangkok, Thailand and has addressed its sessions at Trinidad & Tobago. He has been a guest faculty at various training colleges of Scheduled Commercial Banks and Rural Coop. Banks.
Harsh Deshmukh, Assistant Vice President
Harsh has worked in the Farm Sector Development Department at NABARD Head Office for a period of 1.5 Years and was a part of a team looking after Promotion and FPOs. He is an Agricultural Engineering graduate from JNKVV, Jabalpur and postgraduate in Aquacultural Engineering from IIT, Kharagpur. Young and dynamic, Harsh brings the required raw energy and need for speed to the newly formed subsidiary.
Manash J Rabha, Assistant Vice President
Manash is a post graduate in Management from IIM Shillong and in Computer Applications from National Institute of Technology (NIT), Tiruchirappalli. Prior to joining NABFOUNDATION, he worked with corporates and development sectors for more than 8 years. He has vast experience in various domains such as IT Management, Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E), HR management and Business Development and his real asset is his ability to take a deep and dispassionate look at each project with a fairly stern face.
Sudha Varghese, Assistant Vice President
Sudha holds a post-graduation degree in Commerce from Mumbai University. Having 30 years of experience in various functional departments of NABARD, she has garnered a deep understanding of the agriculture and rural sector in India. She strives to be a perfectionist and is a stickler of rules. She thrives on interactions, her forte being excellent interpersonal relationship and co-ordination skills.
Ishita Meshram, Assistant Vice President
Ishita brings with her six years of demonstrated achievements in the development sector, a journey which saw her handling key assignments in areas like Agri Development, CSR, Gender & Livelihoods, Research, Monitoring, and Evaluation. Her current focus in NABFOUNDATION is on enabling partnerships and addressing key societal challenges through these collaborations. Alongside, in her new role, Ishita is also keen to develop new innovative models of development in convergence with like minded stakeholders. Prior to joining NABFOUNDATION, Ishita worked with Grant Thornton where she got the exposure and extensive hands-on understanding of working in the development consulting ecosystem. Young, diligent and energetic she brings both, positive energy and ground level exposure to the Foundation.
Ishita holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Management from the Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA) and has completed her graduation in BBA from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), Mumbai.
Mamtha Mallesh, Assistant Vice President
Mamtha comes with over nine years of experience in IT and ITES industry and has handled key roles in various Fortune 500 companies. Her journey has seen her handling multiple roles in Business Operations, Project Management, Human Resources, and Information Technology. Currently as part of NABFOUNDATION, she is responsible for leveraging technology-enabled solutions for rural India in addition to her roles in managing human resources.
Assertive, passionate, and optimistic, she brings her own vision for leveraging IT solutions for furthering the rural development agenda. Mamtha holds a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) in Human Resources & Marketing from Bangalore University and Bachelor of Engineering (B.E) in Computer Science from Visvesvaraya Technological University
Emaran Emam Tiwale, Project Assistant
Emaran is a hard-working, committed, and energetic individual who has spent the last 1.5 years working with several village level institutions across the country. In this time, he has directed his energy towards bringing about significant ground-level changes through his ideation and working. Livelihood generation, inclusion, and institution and capacity building, are some areas where his core strength lies. Emaran has pursued a Masters in Development from Azim Premji University and Bachelors in Social Work from Nirmala Niketan, Mumbai.
Vikrant Bhosale, Assistant
Vikrant’s unpretentious, down-to-earth demeanor and forever eager-to-help attitude keeps the team going through the grind of the day. A hardworking and ambitious young man, he is currently pursuing his post-graduation and uses his free hours in getting additional degrees and learning new skills.
